About
Kavach emerged as an extension of the Anti-Bullying Squad. Through ABS, I worked with schools and students to break the silence around bullying and build peer-driven support networks. But as our reach grew across countries, I saw the need for a space that wasn’t limited to school settings. I also began noticing a pattern of adolescents struggling with issues like substance abuse, body image, exam pressure, and more. These would go unnoticed, wouldn't be dealt with, thus bubbling into disorders like depression or anxiety. Kavach arose as a self-help solution to these problems. At its core, it is a youth-led mental health app designed to put support directly into the hands of adolescents. It offers psychologist-vetted videos, articles, and coping strategies, while also sharing peer stories that normalise vulnerability. Kavach takes the community spirit of ABS and scales it globally, making help available anytime, anywhere, so that no student feels silenced, isolated, or without tools to cope.

In 2024, I received a $3000 grant — the maximum amount awarded — from the International Baccalaureate to support Kavach. The funding recognized its potential as a student-led innovation in adolescent mental health and helped expand the app’s reach through new content and outreach initiatives.
